Keown : “A penalty too easily”

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes his old side gave away penalties too easily in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Everton in the Premier League.

At Goodison Park, the Gunners took a first-half lead through Leandro Trossard but were denied a penalty in the second half, converted by Iliman Ndiaye, with Keown believing the challenge of Miles Lewis-Skelly on Jack Harrison was too easy.

“First of all, Miles Lewis-Skelly didn’t seem to have the ball and he tried to block it with his body,” Keown told Ufabet Sports. “But I don’t think there was enough contact to warrant a penalty. It was very light. I’m not sure where the contact was.”

“I understand Harrison เล่นเกมคาสิโน UFABET ทันสมัย ฝากถอนง่าย wanted to go down and it was a close fight, but was there really a collision?”

Meanwhile, Keown said of Lewis-Skelly: “What I would say is if I work with a player, he uses his body brilliantly. That’s one of his strengths.”

“That will be one of those times where he’ll look back and say, ‘You know what, maybe I should have tried to clear it’. But I’m not sure if he actually committed a foul. But when the referee gives a foul, I don’t think VAR will see it the other way around.”
